Citizenship & Immigration Services Releases Fliers On New Deferred Action Executive Orders

As you probably already know, President Obama issued a series of executive orders last November expanding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) and creating a new program of Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) (see Obama Issues Executive Order to Address Immigration Crisis).

U.S. Citizenship And Immigration Services (USCIS) Launched Flyers About New DACA Changes

The new guidelines for DACA are only days away from going into effect, and DAPA changes are expected to come on-line in mid-May. To help the public understand and prepare for these changes, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has released a couple of fliers containing helpful information on each program. These simple, one-page fliers give a brief overview of who qualifies for DACA and DAPA under the expanded programs, and lets you know where to go to find more information. Are You Ready For These Changes?

The President’s executive actions will surely help thousands of undocumented immigrants obtain the status they need to live and work in the U.S. without fear of deportation, but these programs will be limited in the number of people they can serve. Make sure you have the information you will need to apply correctly when these programs become available. For the best chance of success, discuss your situation and review your application with an experienced immigration attorney.
