Many undocumented immigrants are currently in the process of applying for deferred action. Unfortunately, there are people taking advantage of the situation for their own financial gain. Lawyers have been caught making false promises that they can’t possibly keep. Deferred action candidates can also be tricked by others that aren’t even qualified to practice immigration law, including Public Notary’s. They aren’t accredited in immigration law and charge money for help that isn’t any good.

Attorney Alfredo Lozano warns deferred action candidates to watch out for this type of behavior and urges people to do their own initial research on the law so that they don’t waste their time or money.
